Mobb Deep’s Prodigy Shows How To Cook Prison BBQ Salmon From His New Book [Watch Now]

Mobb Deep’s Prodigy released his new book, Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook, last week. The book was birthed from P’s experiences while locked up in Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy, NY from 2008-2011 on a weapons charge. Besides recipes, the book also details how he had to be crafty in preparing his food because inmates were only given a spork and plastic knife as utensils and food was only cooked in a microwave, toaster oven and a toaster.

Co-written by journalist Kathy Iandoli, Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook is available on Amazon, and talks about how to eat healthy as possible while on locked down. Prodigy recently checked in with Munchies Test Kitchen and enlightened viewers on how to cook BBQ salmon if you were in prison. P also tells a few stories on being locked up with the late rapper Chinx, former TYCO CEO and billionaire Dennis Kozlowski, and former Schenectady, NY  Police Chief Gregory Kaczmarek who was convicted in 2008 for being part of a highly organized narcotics distribution organization.

Don’t be fooled though, the book isn’t just about how to stay healthy in prison but is good for anyone that wants to make delicious meals on a budget. Prodigy is also currently wrapping up The Commissary Kitchen Tour where he has been performing and promoting the book. Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook is also available at local retailers including Target,  Wal-Mart and Barnes & Nobles. Check out the video below as P gets his chef on and shares a few stories about his incarceration.
