Mystikal Being Held on $2 Million Dollar Bond for Rape Charges

Over the weekend, Louisiana rapper Mystikal was charged with first-degree rape in Shreveport, Louisiana and is currently being held on a $2 Million dollar bond.

According to TMZ, The Shreveport Police Department were looking for the “Shake It Fast” rapper, whose real name is Michael Tyler, along with a man named Averweone Holman in connection to the 2016 crime. Last October, there was an incident at a casino in which evidence collected at the scene matched 42 year-old Tyler and 26 year-old Holman. In addition to Mystikal and Holman, authorities are looking for Tenichia Wafford, a 46 year-old Texas woman who police believe tried to get the victim to rescind her story. Wafford faces an accessory to first-degree rape charge and her bond has been set at $200,000. Mystikal’s team has said that all charges are false.

This isn’t the first time the former No Limit rapper has faced criminal charges of a sexual nature. He previously served 6 years in prison for sexual battery and was released in 2010. Upon his release, Mystikal signed a deal with Cash Money Records and returned to the music scene.

Mystikal is a registered sex offender in the state of Louisiana. GRIP will be following this story as more details develop.
