O.J. Simpson Could Be Freed and Get Reality TV Show This Year

According to the terms of the sentence his 2008 sentence for armed robbery and kidnapping, O.J. Simpson could be eligible for parole as early as October. And according to TMZ, there have been a number of reality TV producers looking to make his a reality show star.

“We’ve contacted a number of reality TV production companies, TV agents and platforms where such a show could run, and the reactions range from recoiling in disgust to pouncing on the
opportunity,” the celebrity news outlet reported.

TMZ also said that none of the producers wanted to be quoted by name but used the success of shows like The People v. O.J. Simpson and O.J.: Made in America as evidence that a reality show could receive high ratings.

The downside of a possible show would be that many networks would shy away from airing it and that it would be a Pay-Per-View event.

If the show does go down, Simpson wouldn’t be able to reap all of the monetary rewards. He still in debt for more than $30 million to the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman stemming from a 1997 wrongful death judgment. Those monies earned from the show would be used to pay back a portion of that judgment.
