Paul Wall and Baby Bash Among 10 Arrested in Felony Drug Raid

Paul Wall and Baby Bash are among 10 people arrested on felony manufacturing and delivering drug charges in Houston yesterday morning, TMZ reported. Wall, whose real name is Paul Slayton, was found in possession of Tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC. The 35-year-old was taken to jail on a $20,000 bond.

Officers executed a search warrant at Paradise Smoke Shop in the Heights early Friday morning. According to reports, Slayton was holding a private party, collecting toys for disadvantaged children.

Rapper Baby Bash, whose real name is Ronald Ray Bryant, 47, was also among the 10 people arrested.

Both have bonded out of jail.

Jewelry and grill designer Johnny Dang and Slayton are part owners of a new multi-million-dollar jewelry store. Dang said Wall has no reason for involvement in the drug trade because of his successes in music and business.

“I, 100 percent, don’t believe it,” Dang told Houston ABC affiliate KTRK. “I’ve been knowing Paul Wall for 10 years. We just opened this jewelry store.”

Jolanda Jones, an attorney representing Wall, issued a statement saying, “It is early in this case. We are confident that after a thorough investigation of these allegations Mr. Slayton will be proven not guilty. I will fight vigorously to defend my client.”

Both Bryant and Slayton were arrested together back in 2011 for in El Paso for marijuana possession.
