Petition Calls for Bun B to Be Banned From Houston Sports Games

Garnering only 182 signatures presently, a petition has been started on Change.org for Bun B to be banned from all Houston sports events.

The petition was curated by Dontralle Brown Reed, who insists that the veteran Texas rapper’s support for Houston teams is bad for business.

“We have lost players, primetime games and shots at championships every time he’s involved from appearances to his songs,” the petition states. “The fans are growing tired and this has been going on the past 5 years. He only comes around when we are winning so its only right ban him from the teams. He is a bandwagon for his image.”

The petition reportedly will be delivered to Mayor Sylvester Turner, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair, Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey and Houston Astros owner Jim Crane.

As previously reported in other Bun B news, the UGK co-founder teased us with two-and-a-half minutes of hot fire from his forthcoming single “Gametime” and announced the upcoming release EP, aptly titled Extended Play, is dropping on Aug. 28.

In the previous video, he slaps around rough rhymes over driving horns and a slick sample. The only visual is a scoreboard that reads a Texas score of 92, and “Everybody” with a score of 17. The UGK veteran appears solo inside Houston’s NRG stadium.
