Pharrell Reveals A Possible N.E.R.D. Reunion Album and New Collection at #ComplexCon

Pharrell has been putting in a lot of work on the music front, besides being a movie score writer, multi-genre producer, hit-maker, solo artist and fashion icon, part of his legacy is also found in the alt-rock/alt-pop band N.E.R.D.

Since 2002, N.E.R.D (comprised of Pharrell, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley) has dropped some legendary albums, including their first two In Search Of… and Fly Or Die  which housed the monster hits “Rock Star”, “She Wants to Move” and “Maybe”; but the band seemingly disbanded in 2005 and fans have been anticipating the reunion ever since.

On Sunday (Nov. 6th) from #ComplexCon in Long beach, Pharrell blessed fans with hope of the reunion during a live broadcasting of his Beats1 Radio show #OTHERTone with HBO music exec Scott Vener, after announcing that an N.E.R.D album will be happening when the “time is right”.

The untitled album will be the  fifth N.E.R.D album, the group’s first since 2010, but with the trio’s obvious growth and ingenious musical ability, we are sure it will be nothing short of a musical masterpiece.

Despite the optimism, Pharrell hasn’t revealed when the right time would be or if they have even stepped in a studio together to work on the project, but one thing is for sure, the world will be waiting when they do.

In other Pharrell news, the VA bred icon has been announced as G-Star’s Head of Imagination, and has announced this weekend the release of the Elwood X25 collection – a fresh interpretation of the 3D G-Star icon that celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and marks the official release of the first project co-created by Pharrell since his appointment as Head of Imagination of the denim brand.

The collection was introduced as a life-sized installation at ComplexCon Saturday (November 5th) showing the iconic jeans in 25 colorful prints in an all-natural Alpine-like background. With check, camouflages and traditional patterns from all over the world, these 25 prints have all been carefully selected by Pharrell himself.

The Elwood X25 collection is slated to be available in select stores and online as of February 2017.
