Remy Ma Says She’s Not Proud of “Shether”

“ShEther” is arguably one of the greatest diss records this millennium, but Remy Ma is not proud of it. The Bronx rapper explained in a recent interview Facebook Live session on Buzzfeed’s Another Round podcast that she doesn’t regret recording the record but “I’m not particularly proud of it,” she said.

Remy said that she usually uplifts other females…until one comes for her. “I do not condone or recommend the tearing down of another female. That’s not what I do,” she said.

“Anybody that knows me knows that I embrace females […] I think we work so much better when we work together and when we help each other […] However, in the event that you piss me off and we become archenemies, run for cover.”

Remy went on to say that she and Nicki could have used their energies for something positive instead of an online cat fight.

“It just bothers me that this record that I put out where it’s literally picking apart a female went so viral, and every media outlet wants to talk about it and pick it up; I feel like we could’ve done the same thing working together,” she said on the podcast. “I just personally think it would’ve been so much cooler…if we came together and made something crazy […] It could’ve been totally different.”

Other reasons could be a possible backlash from the record. Shortly after its release, New York radio personality Ebro denied all claims that he ever had sex with Nicki, as Remy pointed out in the record.

And most recently, Nicki, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz and Safaree all refute Remy’s claims on the record.
