Rich Homie Quan Jailed for Felony Marijuana Possession

Just a few days ago, Rich Homie Quan was booked for suspicion of weapons possession, and now the Atlanta rapper is facing felony marijuana possession charges, according to TMZ.

The celebrity news outlet reports Quan was charged with felony possession of weed with intent to distribute with his bond set at $20,000. It has not yet been reported exactly how much he allegedly had. In accordance with Georgia drug law, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana counts as a misdemeanor. Possession of an ounce or more is a felony.

TMZ previously reported RHQ was arrested and detained by police on Saturday after he and his entourage were stopped at a police checkpoint in Wadley, Ga. while they were on their way to a performance at Club Liquids. Their plans got derailed after police suspected them to be in possession of ecstasy and weed.

He and five of his associates were arrested and held in Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen gun and drugs. He has not been officially charged with the allegedly stolen gun.

If convicted of the weed charges, he could face up to 30 years in prison, according to TMZ.

Quan has been on his way back, as he released his latest project and first on Motown Back To The Basics last month.

Led by the previously-heard singles “Replay,” “Da Streets” & “Heart Cold,” the follow-up to 2015’s ABTA project features 11 tracks in total & a lone appearance from Cyko, who appears on the track “Safe.”

Many fans were eager to hear Quan returning to his original style and no song exemplifies this more than his track, “Da Streets,” as he talks about his childhood and growing up in Atlanta as he raps:

“17 was the worst, feel like I ain’t had no purpose/At 18 was workin’/At 18 was lurkin’/At 18 I graduated, a lotta lames in my class, I know they mad I made it/I keep my phone on silent because it aggravates me/And I protect my paper like it’s laminated.”
