Rihanna Previews New Fall Collection for Stance

Rihanna has released a new collection of socks for Fall with rebel sock brand Stance.

The collection is her forth release for the brand and follows a Japanese theme mixed with street wear and punk accents. The collaboration is very fitting, seeing that Stance brands itself as being the “Uncommon Thread.” Their identity caters toward the daring and risk taking, much like their contributor, Rihanna.

The nine-piece collection showcases motifs significant to Japanese culture, such as calligraphy, the lotus flower and geisha. Her color ways are rich for a nice introduction to Fall and feature a stylish combination of shapes, prints and embellishments, which are huge themes for the season.

Giving the campaign an artistic spin, the artist Bijou Karman illustrate visuals of Rihanna and the socks to bring the collection to life. The pieces have an overall sense of individuality, offering styles with a lace-up ribbon addition and even a thigh-high look perfect for taking it up a notch in true “bad gal” style.

The larger-than-life pop star whose most recent viral street style look has girls strapping their mini-skirts over their boyfriends’ dress shirt is something like a walking fashion legend.

She was named the industry revered Fashion Icon by CFDA in 2014, has covered fashion magazines from Vogue to Elle and has industry authorities calling her “fashion’s most exciting muse.”

Rihanna has recently been expanding her ventures as a creative director, designer and brand ambassador for multi-million-dollar fashion and apparel companies like Puma and Christian Dior. Her September Fashion Week release for the Fenty x Puma project had women dying for a chance to get a hold of her footwear like the infamous fur slides, which sold out immediately.

With her collaboration for the popular sock brand Stance, she is definitely solidifying her reputation as a style advisory. The Fenty x Stance Japanese collection ranges from $16-32 and is now available on Stance.com and specialty retailers.
