Run The Jewels Drop New Single, Announce “RTJ3” Release Date, Tracklist, Album Cover

Along with the release of their third single “Legend Has It” from their much-anticipated forthcoming album RTJ3, Run The Jewels announced today the album’s official January 13 release date, cover and tracklist.

The album, according to Pitchfork, features Danny Brown, Kamasi Washington, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Trina, Boots, and more and features previously released songs “Talk to Me,” “Panther Like a Panther (I’m the Shit)” and “2100.”

The album’s cover, designed by Timothy Saccenti, shows usual RTJ fist and gun logo but this time in gold with a blue background.

“For us, the RTJ hands were about ‘taking what’s yours’—your world, your life, your attitude,” Saccenti said in an interview with Pitchfork. “The RTJ2 hands were wrapped in bandages, signifying injury and healing, which for us represented the growth in ideas and tone of that album. For RTJ3 the bandages are off, the chain is gone and the hands have been transformed into gold. For us this represents the idea that there is nothing to take that exists outside of yourself. You are the jewel.”
