Scarface’s 1989 Debut Single Re-Released on Vinyl

Twenty-seven years ago, pioneering Southern rapper Scarface (then known as DJ Akshen) released his monumental single “Scarface” as a solo artist on Lil’ Troy’s independent label Short Stop Records. Later that year, he signed to Rap-A-Lot Records, joined the Geto Boys and released the group’s album Grip It! On That Other Level, the album widely known from which the track appeared.

In honor of one of the tracks that helped lead the South into rap dominance, On The Good Foot Music kicks off their series of re-releasing Houston hip-hop classics and unreleased material from the late 1980s/ early 1990s. The single is now available on 7-inch vinyl.

Only 500 copies will be released and will come with two posters with images from the original photo-shoot, a postcard and a sticker. Purchase your copy here.
