Shawty Lo Killed In Car Accident

According to 11Alive.com, Atlanta Hip-Hop veteran Shawty Lo was killed in a hit and run accident early this morning. Shawty Lo, born Carlos Walker, was 40 years old.

V-103 radio personality also confirmed the sad news via Twitter where he stated, “Mgr Johnny Cabell has confirmed that @THATSSHAWTYLO has been killed in a hit and run accident this am. Real O.G. R.I.P. #zone1forlife.”

Shawty Lo first burst on the scene nationally in 2005 as part of the rap group D4L with their smash single “Laffy Taffy.” Lo then went on to solo success with hits that included “Dey Know,” Dunn Dun” and “Foolish” and projects like Units In The City and I’m Da Man.

Update: 

According to 11Alive.com, Fulton County Police initially said the crash was as a result of a hit-and-run but later said only one car was involved. According to the GDOT, the 2016 Audi rolled over and hit two trees before catching on fire. Cpl. Partrena Smith said one person, the driver. Shawty Lo, died after being ejected and two others were transported to the hospital.

The two women passengers who were ejected are at Grady Hospital with injuries Fulton County police believe are not life threatening.

The ramp at Cascade Road is closed pending the investigation.
