Brooklyn spitter Siya proves she  is capable of crafting complex, seductive ballads that show off her softer side. Today, she makes an offer we can’t refuse with “Don’t U (Say Yes), a stuttering, Floetry-sampling slow jam.

Recruiting her R&B Money label boss Tank for an emotive verse, Siya pleads with her lover, announcing her devotion through sensitive bars and sweetly-crooned auto-tune.

“Don’t U (Say Yes)” is the latest single from Siya’s upcoming Commitment EP, a unique blend of blissed-out cloud rap and gauzy Toronto-style rap-n-b confessionalism. Produced entirely by The Olympicks (Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky), the love-themed Commitment EP arrives on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.

The BK MC spoke on her Hip-Hop love ballad, stating,

“I’m a big fan of Marsha Ambrosius and Floetry, so I knew I wanted to sample the original Floetry record. I sent the song to the Olympicks  and they flipped it. I did the first verse and hook and sent it to Tank. I don’t really think you can call it a duet; I’m just versatile enough to do a record with an R&B singer.”

In 2016, Siya released the hard-hitting SIYAvsSIYA, her debut album. Featuring appearances from Sage The Gemini, Lyric Wright, Jake & Papa, Kreesha Turner, and Ashley Rose, the album posits a battle between the two conflicting sides of Siya’s personality.

Signed to Tank’s R&B Money label, Siya was also one of the breakout stars of Sisterhood of Hip Hop, a reality series on Oxygen starring five female rappers who navigate their way through the male-dominated music.

Peep Siya and Tank’s ode to cuffing season “Don’t U (Say Yes)” now.
