Rapper Starlito has officially turned himself in after police said he was wanted in connection with a shooting that took place over the weekend.
According to published reports, Starlito turned himself into authorities on Thursday (Aug 3) after finding out he was wanted by police in connection with a shooting at a local Batter’d & Fried restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee. News Channel 5 reports that the altercation began when two men entered the restaurant when one of them punched one of the rapper’s friends in the face.
Following this incident video surveillance reveals that shots were fired; however, it remains unclear if the shooter was Starlito or his friend, hitting the man who threw the punch, James Fletcher, in his left leg.
The station reports that Fletcher did not suffer any life threatening injuries from the shooting and he was transported to a nearby hospital while declining to cooperate with detectives when they attempted to interview him about the incident.
Despite the lack of cooperation, Starlito was arrested due to being out on bond at the time of the shooting, stemming from harassment charges according to East Nashville News. According to reports, charges were filed after Starlito sent photos of himself next to the complainant’s car with a gun and a message that read “somebody is going to die tonight.”
Starlito was set to appear in court on Aug. 16 in relation to these charges.
Warrants from the most recent incident were issued for Starlito’s arrest just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug 2), charging him with aggravated assault and unlawful gun possession.
Starlito had released his new album, Hot Chicken, on July 5.
