T.I. Accepts Donald Trump As President

T.I. has been more than vocal about his objection to Donald Trump being elected as President of the United States. Over the past months, he’s been spotted at several protests and spoke to media outlets about his criticism of Trump and Trump’s policies.

TMZ caught up with the Atlanta rapper as he was leaving Russell Simmons’ inaugural All Def Roast of Snoop Dogg at the Avalon in Hollywood earlier this week.

During the interview, he shares responsibility for Hillary Clinton not being elected.

“I just think all of the people who are up in arms about it — myself included — you know, we just didn’t do enough,” T.I. said. “Now it’s about focusing on, for one, how we have to keep ourselves out of harm’s way and kind of how we unite over the next two years…Because in the next two years there’s going to be some more voting that needs to be done, it’s some more people that need to be elected.”

The reporter mistakenly thought the “two years” to which Tip referred were of the next presidential election, but the Bankhead native quickly straightened him out and put him on the right path.

“I’m talking about Congress, Senate, local elections,” T.I. clarifies. “Local elections are the most effective elections. Those are the things that directly affect the people in the community.”

After being interrupted by a hostile voice in the background, T.I. paused before summing up the interview with this final statement.

“Right now, all we can do is accept the changes that have been made to this country,” he says. “We gone have to make the best with what we got.”

Clifford Harris joined Meek Mill and Questlove along with thousands of other anti-Trump protesters in New York earlier this month and went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to explain his actions.

“When I look my kids in the eye after this thing takes place, I voted, and I’ve done everything I could prior to now,” he revealed,” but after the decision of the election had happened, I just want to be able to look my kids in the eyes and let them know I did everything the constitution allows me to do to show my objection to this decision.”
