T.I.  apparently had some problems up north last night (Jan. 30) as TMZ reports that The King of the South’s bodyguard was stabbed in the leg at a show in Canada.

The incident occurred at a club in Moncton, New Brunswick after a fight broke out near a merchandise table the 23-year-old bodyguard was holding down. Tip’s bodyguard was reportedly stabbed three times in one of his calves and taken to a local hospital before later being released.

Police also spoke with T.I. after the attack who later headed back to the States. The King had just wrapped up the final stops of the Canadian leg of his Us or Else tour.

In related news, T.I. will host the 5th Annual Global Spin Awards going down on Feb. 23 during the 2017 All-Star Weekend in New Orleans.

The burgeoning award show, expected to be a star-studded affair, honors DJs from all across the globe, and No Limit Records will put on a special reunion performance, featuring Master P, Silkk The Shocker, Mia X, Mystikal and Romeo.

T.I. spoke on his hosting duties, stating,

“I am excited to host the 5th Annual Global Spin Awards. This event continues to recognize the driving forces and influencers that impact diverse audiences globally and across various genres and I’m honored to be part such an incredible night.”

This year’s event also holds the distinction bestowing Salt-N-Pepa’s DJ Spinderella with the “Breaking Barriers Award” and legendary DJ/producer DJ Clark Kent with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
