As if a marijuana empire, 16 albums, and two lifestyle clothing companies weren’t enough, Berner, who is signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Ent. , has announced that he will finance the creation of Packs, a feature-length film recounting the rise of designer California weed.

Berner told Variety,

“We made whole markets go from buying Mexican weed for $40/ounce to buying Cali shit for $400/ounce. It was like the coke wave of the ’70s and ’80s, and Northern California was a major part of it. With prohibition coming to an end, it’s only right to let the world know how it all really went down.”

Packs, set to be a unique take on the inter-state drug smuggling trade, will be directed by Daniel Ragussis. Ragussis’ debut film Imperium, starring Daniel Radcliffe, recounted the perilous infiltration of a white supremacist terror cell by FBI agent Michael German. With a background in portraying the gritty realities of American history, Ragussis is the perfect choice for directing a movie about the rise of a massive marijuana empire.

Ragussis’ expertise, combined with Berner’s experience in the marijuana industry, as well as his role in creating Girl Scout Cookies, one of the country’s biggest marijuana strains, will make for a provocative portrayal of the rise in designer weed in out of state markets.

Ragussis added,

“Berner has the ability to provide an exclusive and authentic view of the designer marijuana smuggling trade, a gritty, cinematic world we’ve never seen on screen before.”
