TLC has recently revealed new details for their much-anticipated, self-titled album due June 30, which is now available for pre-order on iTunes and Apple Music and offers instant-grat track “Haters” with purchase.
The iconic girl-group will play their first ever UK show at Koko on Tuesday, May 9 and will livestream select tracks from the sold-out performance via Facebook.
The musical pioneers recently unveiled their first single, “Way Back (featuring Snoop Dogg),” which offers a sneak peek into their first album in 15 years. TLC has been – as the opening lyric of “Way Back” suggests – “a long, long time coming.”
This is the sound of a band not only reflecting on their sometimes-turbulent roots, but also facing forward towards a bright future. “Way Back” was greeted with unanimous praise in the US and abroad and is followed by newly revealed “Haters,” another classic but contemporary cut from a group who appear invigorated to be back doing what they do best.
TLC is ready to return to the spotlight, after having largely stepped back from the public eye following the tragic passing of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes. A Kickstarter campaign was launched to contribute towards recording the new album and became the most-funded in the company’s history, with the likes of Katy Perry amongst the first to donate.
Having sold over 65 million records worldwide, TLC are one of the best-selling American girl groups of all time, with four GRAMMY Awards, four multi-platinum albums (two of which went Diamond), ten Top 10 singles and four Number 1s. Their undeniable influence across music, fashion and female friendship defined, and continues to define generations.
TLC will headline the I Love The ‘90s – The Party Continues Tour with Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, Naughty By Nature, Biz Markie, Montell Jordan, and others, that kicks off July 7 in Everett, WA and ends September 16 in Chicago, IL.
With their new album finally unveiled – and sold-out shows on the horizon – TLC are unquestionably back where they’re supposed to be – and unquestionably still crazy, sexy and cool.
