Trick Daddy and Trina Sign New Deal with Slip-N-Slide Records for Collab Album

The 20-year-old prayers of Trick Daddy and Trina fans have finally been answered. In a recent interview with Mass Appeal, Mr. 305 revealed that he and the “Baddest Bitch” signed a deal with Slip-N-Slide Records for a collaboration project between the two veteran rappers.

“So we bringing the city back,” he said. ““I just want this Trick & Trina record to be classic. I’m going to turn the Diamond Princess back to the Baddest Bitch.”

The Miami natives first collaborated on Trick’s 1998 breakthrough hit single “Nann Nigga,” which landed the label a distribution deal with Atlantic Records and forever changed the sound of their city. Although the two never released an entire album together, they frequently collaborated for song on each other’s projects.

“[The collaboration album is] just something the fans always wanted, and now we’re officially going to make it happen,” Slip-N-Slide CEO Ted Lucas said. “Trick put Miami on the map with gangsta music, which was different from all perspectives. When Miami was known for booty shaking, Trick was able to change the culture of what people thought about of Miami music, and Trina was able to put female rappers on the map. We’re excited about it, and looking forward to it.”

While both rappers have released mixtapes, EPs and singles over the years, the new project will be Trick Daddy’s first LP since 2009’s Finally Famous: Born a Thug, Still a Thug and his first album on Slip-N-Side since 2006’s Back by Thug Demand. Trina’s 2010 album Amazin’ was last solo LP as well as her last Slip-N-Side project.
