The death of yet another black man in American has gone without atonement as 54-year-old Ronald Gasser (a white male) was questioned by Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department and then set free “sometime overnight” after officials believed they had no reason to hold him in the killing of former NFL running back Joe McKnight, according to TMZ.
Officials say that Gasser “definitely” shot the ex-NFL running back but no charges have been filed because of “questions about the circumstances surrounding what led up to it.”
According to reports, 28-year-old McKnight was gunned down in the Terrytown suburb of New Orleans at about 3 pm yesterday after an arguement at an intersection between the two men. A witness said the she saw a men yelling at another man who was trying to apologize. The man who was yelling shot the other man, stood over him and said “I told you don’t you fuck with me.” He then fired again.
Social media reacted with outrage, disappointment and dark humor on the sad situation.
“Police? I just shot and killed a guy.”
“STAY WHERE YOU ARE!”
“Also, he’s black.”
“Go home. We’ll call you if we need you.”#JoeMcKnight

We fought in every war for this country
We paid the highest price for freedom
Yet you repay us with inhumanity

Sheriff is happily threatening to arrest the protestors but just released a murderer that took #JoeMcKnight life? Welcome to the USA.

So if you’re protesting in the street you will go to jail, but the man who shot him to death walked free? That makes sense. #JoeMcKnight
