Chicago lyricist Vic Mensa can breathe a little easier after learning that his gun possession case won’t leave him behind bars. As previously reported back in March, Vic Mensa was arrested on a felony gun charge. Vic was pulled over in Beverly Hills for driving through a stop sign and having tinted windows. He landed in trouble however after he told police that he had a gun in the car and showed them a concealed carry permit. Unfortunately though, the permit was not valid in California.

Mensa was then arrested on a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon. He spent one night in jail before posting his $35,000 bail and being released.

Well TMZ has learned that the D.A.’s office has offered the “16 Shots” rapper a deal where he’ll get two years probation after pleading no contest to carrying a concealed firearm in his car. The second count of carrying an unregistered loaded firearm was dropped.

TMZ also states, “He’s free and clear if he pays $500. He does have another option, serve 2 days in jail.”

Vic also has  to cover $1,325 in restitution.

In related news, Mensa’s debut album The Autobiography drops July 28 and just dropped the new video “Rage.”
