Vic Mensa has never been known to hold back his feelings surrounding any thing related to his hometown of Chicago, so when the Roc Nation artist was asked about his feelings towards fellow Chicagoan R. Kelly; Mensa let loose.
During an interview with TMZ, Vic let the world know how he felt about the current allegations, Mensa revealed that R. Kelly should be “locked away forever.”
“F*ck R. Kelly. R. Kelly is a scumbag and a very dirty man. He needs to be locked away forever.”
Despite the accusations over the years, Kelly has repeatedly denied the claims, including the most recent accusing him of leading a cult of women, calling them “a bunch of crap” before threatening legal action.
Although Buzzfeed writer Jim DeRogatis blew the whistle on the recent allegations, he has actually written about Kelly and his alleged sexual misconduct since 2000, citing court records as well as public and private sources.
“Illinois state statute prohibits adult men from having sex with girls under 17, but prosecutions must be brought within three years of the act,” DeRogatis wrote in a piece for the Sun-Times published in 2000. “Kelly has never been charged in connection with any of his relationships with minors, and the statute of limitations is now past for several of these relationships. Chicago police twice have investigated allegations that Kelly was having sex with an underage female but dropped the investigations because the girl would not cooperate.”
