Washington D.C. Police Officer Arrested for Paying a Teen for Sex, Then Robbing Her

A police officer in Washington, D.C. was arrested in Maryland this past week. Authorities revealed that he allegedly paid a 15-year-old girl for sex, but in a strange twist of events, after he exchanged the money, the 27-year-old officer pulled his gun out and demanded for it back.

According to a report from NBC 4 Washington, Officer Chukwuemeka Ekwonna was arrested at his home on 7500 block of Lake Glen Drive in Glenn Dale, Md. on Thursday by Anne Arundel County police. Authorities state that he has a plethora of charges, including armed robbery, use of a firearm, first, second and third-degree assault, third-degree sex offense, reckless endangerment and prostitution offenses.

The alleged incident occurred on Jan. 9 when, per court documents, Ekwonna met the 15-year-old girl on social media and he offered her $80 for sex. She informed officers that after they met and had sex, the Glenn Dale officer pulled his firearm out and demanded for his money back.

Marc Limansky, a spokesperson for AACOPD says that the two met to “engage in the act of prostitution” on the social media app, Tagged.

“They made arrangements to meet in Glen Burnie. They engaged in an act of prostitution, after which he then displayed a handgun and robbed her of the money he had just paid her,” said Limansky.

The 15-year old victim, is currently in “supportive services”. The evidence involved shows that the girl was acting her own as was not involved in any sex trafficking operations. She will not be named because she is a minor.

Ekwonna was employed by the police department for a little over a year and worked for the Second District. Authorities state that his police powers were revoked and was fired on Friday.
