Watch Kyrie Irving React to Learning His Player Rating on NBA 2K18

In a recent video posted to social media, Kyrie Irving was a tad bit disappointed after hearing that his rating will be a 90 in the upcoming NBA 2K18 video game.

When asked what he thought his rating should be, the Cleveland Cavaliers point guard predicted it should be a 95. “When you add in a few factors,” he figures, “cover athlete, cover athlete, cover athlete. Then, I should at least be a 95 plus, at least.”

When he found out his actual rating, a look of disbelief came over his face. He then replied, “I love it. It’s motivating me now. By the end of the season, I’ll be a 95 plus. You guess are going to stop playing with me about ratings.”

Maybe his disbelief comes with good reason. The four-times NBA All-Star player scored 25.9 points per game during the playoffs against the Golden State Warriors and 25.2 points per game during the regular season. Added to that, his picture is on the cover for the game, which is scheduled for release on September 19.

NBA 2K18 will be the first game in the series to be released for the Nintendo Switch; it will also be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. Special edition versions of the game feature Shaquille O’Neal as the cover athlete. DeMar DeRozan is the cover athlete for the game in Canada.
