Black-ish star Yara Shahidi is getting her own show as Freeform just announced that that her new series and spinoff, College-ish, will premirer on ABC in early 2018 with 13-half-hour episiodes already greenlit.

The series will revolve around Yari Shahidi’s Black-ish character Zoey as she heads off to college, with comedian Deon Cole, who plays “Charlie Telphy” on the comedy series, playing an adjunct marketing professor at the university. Kenya Barris, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland and Brian Dobbins will serve as executive producers of the series, produced by ABC Studios.

“I never thought they’d let me put ‘Black-ish’ on the air let alone give me a spinoff,” Kenya Barris said in a statement. “I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to continue working with Yara and the rest of this talented young cast. To any aspiring writers struggling to make it out there, I highly advise adding an ‘–ish’ to any working title you might have. It seems to be the move.”

Karey Burke, Freeform’s executive vice president of programming and development, added, “Our goal at Freeform is to celebrate the power, possibility and inclusivity of youth culture through our shows. Kenya Barris blazes new trails in the funniest way possible with ‘College-ish’ and we can’t wait to get schooled by the incredibly talented Yara Shahidi, who is the perfect addition to our Freeform family.”

We can’t wait to see this. Will you be watching?
