In celebration of the release of Yasiin Bey and Ferrari Sheppard’s collaboration project Dec 99th, the duo tore down New York City’s Apollo Theater for a special concert performance Wednesday night and brought out special guests Slick Rick and Pharoahe Monch.
The artist formerly known as Mos Def performed with Rick the Ruler to perform “Auditorium” off the 2009 album, The Ecstatic.

Dec. 99th was released on Tidal yesterday and features previously released songs “NAW,” “Local Time,” and “Seaside Panic Room.” Bey, who announced his retirement in October, says it will be his last album.

Just last month, Bey was allowed to leave South Africa after spending most of 2016 out on bail in the country. In January, the Brooklyn-born emcee was charged with using a false passport and travel document while attempting to leave the country. And it took 11 months for the situation to be concluded. After he “unreservedly apologized to the government of South Africa,” Bey was allowed to leave.
