YG Did Not Break $60,000 Contract by Performing “FDT” at SDSU

Contrary to previous reports that YG breached a $60,000 contract by performing “Fuck Donald Trump” at San Diego State University last weekend, SPIN reported that the Compton rapper received his full payment, despite performing the anti-Trump anthem.

A university spokesperson said that the student group who booked the rapper says that the school did not have a contract with YG banning him from performing “FDT.”

According to Associated Students of SDSU spokesperson Raven Tyson, YG was informally asked not to perform the song. However, his performance of “FDT” did not constitute a breach of contract.

“During booking discussions with Live Nation, the student Greenfest committee that selected the artist and planned the GreenFest concert requested that YG not perform his song, ‘FDT,’” Tyson told SPIN via email.

“The student Greenfest Committee was advised that an artist can be asked, but that there is a possibility that the artist will still play the song. On the night of the concert, YG indicated that he wanted to play the song ‘FDT’ even though he had been asked not to by Associated Students. Associated Students indicated that payment would not be withheld if he played the song. YG was paid his full $60,000 fee for performing at Greenfest.”

In another defiant display of attitudes towards President Trump, hackers cracked radio broadcast signals in South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Louisville, Ky., Sacramento, Calif. and Seattle, Wash. and playing “Fuck Donald Trump” on repeat.

Watch the video of “FDT” featuring Nipsey Hustle has gotten more than 15 million views on YouTube since being released back in April. Check it out below.
