It was only a matter of time before someone initiated a “Free Blac Youngsta” campaign following the Memphis rapper’s arrest in connection with a shooting targeting Young Dolph. And so far, Young Thug is the first to step to the plate and demand Blac’s freedom. The Atlanta rapper took to Instagram today (May 17) to voice his position on the issue.

Using the caption #FreeBlacYoungsta, Thugger posted two videos with snippets of a track demanding several of his associates, including Blac Youngsta” be freed.

As previously reported, Blac Youngsta surrendered to police custody after warrants for arrest were issued for the Memphis rapper and two other men (Frederick Black, 23, and Antavius Gardner, 20) in Charlotte. All three men were charged with six counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and felony conspiracy.

The shooting, which took place in late February, led to as many as 100 shots being fired in Young Dolph’s direction while he was on his way to a concert. No injuries were sustained during the shooting, according to local reports from the scene, and Dolph later performed at the Cameo Charlotte nightclub that evening.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told FOX13 that multiple apartment units and vehicles were struck in the shooting.

Youngsta and Dolph have a history together. Yo Gotti‘s associate Youngsta reportedly showed up in Dolph’s neighborhood with weapons in March 2016 after the two exchanged and heated words between their respective crews on social media and on record previously. Youngsta mocked Dolph by name on the song “Shake Sum” for being a transplant from Chicago, shortly after Dolph claimed he slept with the mother of Yo Gotti’s child.

During an interview with TMZ, Dolph raised suspicion after speaking about his relationship with Youngsta.

“He doesn’t know me, I don’t know him,” said Dolph. “That whole situation is see through, just like the windshield. You know who got a problem with Dolph over there… I could make somebody go to any neighborhood I want to, there’s some people you just don’t play with, there’s some people you just don’t try.”
