Name: Mike Floss
Reppin: Nashville, Tenn.
Genre: Rap

Nashville has a rich musical history, earning it the moniker Music City. But when it comes to rap, there’s a very short list of artists from Tennessee’s capital city who can say they hopped in the game and put numbers on the boards. Mike Floss is next up.

Formerly known as Open Mic, the manifold MC got his love for music honest as his father is a jazz musician. He grew up in studios soaking up vibes.

After first grabbing the public’s attention with the mixtapes For the Rebels (2011) and For the Rebels 2 (2014), he put out the indie album, Don’t Blame the Youth, in November 2015, which featured the turnt standout track, “Dopeboy Dreaming.”

The diverse LP was named the Best Hip-Hop Album of 2015 by The Nashville Scene, with critic Lance Conzett noting, “Floss isn’t a Midwestern backpacker, from the Atlanta trap school or from the mean streets of New York, but each of those influences acts as part of the connective tissue in a tremendous effort in self-possessed rap music. Don’t sleep on Mike Floss.”

The Iconic Group

Riding the momentum from the buzz-worthy project, Mike is prepping the release of a new album, spearheaded by his latest single, “Take Yours.” Produced by fellow Cashville natives, Syk Sense and Ducko McFlii, the boisterous banger is Mike’s most in-your-face song to date.

Time to get into Floss mode.
