If Shawty Lo was alive today, his friends and family believe he would’ve turn’t Atlanta all the way out celebrating his 41 birthday this weekend.

For this reason, the family of the chart-topping Atlanta music legend kept his legacy alive by hosting the Shawty Lo “All Star” Weekend. The widely talked about weekend allowed Shawty Lo’s fans an exclusive opportunity to join his family and closest friends in celebrating their music hero.

The basketball game kicked off with an exclusive preview of Shawty Lo’s posthumously released album, R.IC.O.  The new project includes unreleased material that Shawty Lo was working on prior to his untimely death in September. 

GRIP Magazine was definitely on the scene to cover the celebrity basketball game yesterday and to share exclusive photos from the day. 

1017 Eskimo Records blazing new signee Ralo, legendary music manager Johnnie Cabbell, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reality show star Bambi, Mook-B of the triple-platinum group D4L  and rapper Juug Man (Yung Ralph) and Six 9 were among the celebrity notables spotted at the packed basketball game. Inside sources also mentioned that rapper 21 Savage was spotted in the building showing support to the King of Bankhead. 

Shawty Lo’s sons Quando and Carlos Jr. kicked off the game by going head to head for the tip off as Carlos Jr. went for the first shot of the game. Team one was coached by Ralo, the Famerican Gangster and team two was coached by manager, Johnnie Cabbell.

Quando, whose also a rapper, said,

“My dad loved playing basketball. This was one of his things to do when he came home from a show.”
