21 Savage is set to debut a capsule collection with Young and Reckless clothing brand. The collection will release at the end of the year and takes a reminiscent approach to a tribute for one of future’s brightest rap stars. The street wear brand released pictures of the various designs on social media to promote the upcoming collaboration.
The collection consists of 9 pieces inspired by 1990s hip hop trends including a t shirt featuring a hand-drawn caricature of 21’s Slaughter King mixtape cover, collage t shirts of Savage and a hoodie with a black and white drawing of him inspired by the line art trend of the 90s.
The Y&R brand was started by “Drama” Phiff featured on MTV’s Rob & Big and Fantasy Factory. The popularity he gained from the shows gave him the platform to express his experience as a young entrepreneur to his reality TV audience.
Young and Reckless or “Y&R” clothing consists of looks with a skatepark feel and urban flare. Carrying trendy casual merchandise from hoodies and t shirts to bomber jackets and baseball shirts, the line has been endorsed by artists among the likes of Nas, the Game, Fetty Wap and Cassie.
Drama chose 21 because he is consistent with the vision of Young and Reckless. 21 Savage is an unapologetically blunt 24 year old from the Eastside of Atlanta with a dark, street attitude. He fearlessly calls out rappers like Tyga and speaks openly about modern hip hop “gangsta” facades but it’s not only his savage persona that gives him the Y&R edge. For Young and Reckless, a brand that promotes the rebel entrepreneur spirit, the “No Heart” rapper, who turned his dangerous past into a lucrative image and music career, has the ideal mindset.
“ 21 Savage is the epitome of somebody living the Young and Reckless lifestyle,” says Y&R founder. “Creating an incredibly successful career for himself over the last year and doing things his way at all times, he is the perfect fit for the brand”.
The collection is set to release in stores and online at Pacsun on December 31st. Select styles are available for pre order now at www.youngandreckless.com.
