21 Savage and Metro Boomin Say Everybody Sounds Like Migos [Watch Now]

In a recent episode of Noisey, 21 Savage and Metro Boomin explain how they came to work together on their collaborative project Savage Mode.

Metro starts off by saying that he was impressed by the rapper’s style.

“He wasn’t really rapping like anybody else,” the producer said. “Everybody be rapping real similar right now.”

21 then jumps in for further clarification on what his producer is trying to say.

“Fast-patterned rapping like the Migos,” he says. “If they ain’t rapping like the Migos, they’re trying to sing like Future.”

Metro backs him up, saying, that he is “tired of hearing that shit.” He said it’s not that he doesn’t like the Migos but he doesn’t want to hear that style from “nobody that’s not the niggas that do that shit…Niggas be trying to rap too hard. That be the problem.”

In unrelated news, 21 Savage is set to debut a capsule collection with Young and Reckless clothing brand. The collection will release at the end of the year and takes a reminiscent approach to a tribute for one of future’s brightest rap stars. The street wear brand released pictures of the various designs on social media to promote the upcoming collaboration.
