Bun B Reveals Release Date for ‘Extended Play’ EP

Last week, he teased us with two-and-a-half minutes of hot fire from his forthcoming single “Gametime.” And today (July 21), Bun B announced the upcoming release EP, aptly titled Extended Play EP, is dropping on Aug. 28.

In the previous video, he slaps around rough rhymes over driving horns and a slick sample. The only visual is a scoreboard that reads a Texas score of 92, and “Everybody” with a score of 17. The UGK veteran appears solo inside Houston’s NRG stadium.

Watch both below.

In other UGK news as previously reported, Chinara Butler, the wife of the late legend Pimp C (and the other half of UGK), had some choice words for Young Thug after the Cash Money artist name dropped Pimp C during his verse on Chance The Rapper‘s “Big B’s.”

In the song, Young Thug references the UGK rapper’s verse from the group’s collaboration with Outkast, “Int’l Player’s Anthem (I Choose You).” On the collaboration track, Pimp C opens his iconic verse with the line:

“My bitch a choosy lover, never fuck without a rubber/Never in the sheets, like it on top of the cover.”

On “Big B’s,” Thugger seemingly takes a nod at the classic hit, responding to Pimp C’s verse directly saying: “Pimp C, I ain’t doing that, I’ma fuck her on the sheets, yeah/And all my niggas loyal like Bun B, hold on.”

Although Young Thug wasn’t apparently malicious in his intent, Ms. Butler wasn’t feeling the mention and took to Instagram to express her displeasure with the verse.

“I’m feeling a certain kind of way about Young Thug and Jeffery verse. He mentioned Chad, he said something like, ‘Pimp C, I ain’t doing that’ where he disagrees with it or whatever. My thing is if Chad was alive, you wouldn’t mention him in that song the way you did, so don’t do it now. So, watch your mouth. He’s not here to have that conversation with you, but I am.”

The wife of the Hip-Hop great then goes on to shout out JAY-Z, Frank Ocean, A$AP Mob, Blac Youngsta, J. Cole and other rappers for giving the late rapper props in their songs, saying “she appreciates the love” with them doing it the “right way.”

Check out Mrs. Butler’s response and a new version of the song below.
