CeeLo Green has issued an apology to fans after a video surfaced of him being injured after his cell phone exploding hit the web.

According to the Hip-Hop crooner, the video was not real but instead a part of a music video he was shooting to release his new music.

“I just want to let everyone know that I am alive and I am ok”, CeeLo said. “What you saw today was a clip of a video from a smaller project that we are shooting called Gnarly Davidson”

Although he didn’t much more information about the actual project, CeeLo revealed that the video was designed to set up the stage to reveal a new identity for his project. CeeLo also let fans know that despite the footage leak, the project will still be released soon.

As previously reported, security cameras captured the scene at a recording studio with CeeLo Green working and talking on a cell phone when the device starts emitting smoke before exploding in his face and knocking the artist off his chair and onto the floor. The video ends with CeeLo lying motionless on the ground.

CeeLo never commented regarding the video’s authenticity, but the clip still spurred fans, as well as fellow R&B star Omarion to post messages of concern on Twitter.

“@CeeLoGreen Sooo manyyyy prayers & light to you brother!!!! I [pray] your hearing is ok!!!” he wrote.
