Chief Keef Arrested for Weed in South Dakota, Management Issues Statement

For some strange reason, Chief Keef just isn’t able to keep up with which states have legalized recreational marijuana and which states have not. Back in March, the Chicago rapper was arrested in Miami for misdemeanor marijuana possession (along with a more serious felony DUI).

Then just yesterday (June 12), he was arrested at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport in South Dakota on marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges, the Argus Leader reports. Airport security reportedly found two THC edibles and four blunts in his carry-on bag. Keef (whose real name is Keith Cozart) was booked into the Minnehaha County Jail without bail and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of between two ounces and a half-pound of marijuana.

Hours after his arrest, Keef’s management emailed the following statement to The Fader: “Our lawyers are actively in communication with the court and jail. We are confident that the situation will be handled in a timely fashion and that Keith will be released within the next 24 hours at the latest.”

Since his arrest, Sosa has been circulating on social media and put Sioux Falls and South Dakota on the map. See some of the tweets below.
