Hip-Hop veteran, Ice Cube is gearing up to re-release his classic album, Death Certificate. The new release titled Death Certificate: 25th Anniversary Edition will have three new tracks to accompany the 1991 masterpiece by the NWA rhymer.
After several years of being an independent artist, Ice Cube also joined Interscope Records who will be releasing the 25th anniversary edition of Cube’s Death Certificate classic on June 9. Originally released on Priority Records, it seems like Cube owns his masters as he takes his classic to a new home for the reissue.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer also dropped the new album’s lead single, “Good Cop Bad Cop,” one of the new tracks added to to the 25th Anniversary Edition. On the T-Mix produced track, Ice Cube pick things up where he left off and raps about crooked officers, spitting,
“Fuck a black and white when they ain’t actin’ right/ Good cop, good cop fillin’ out your report / Bad cop asking you to distort / Bad cop asking you to lie in court /Send another young brother up north / Send another young sister off course / While these motherf*****s chill on the golf course.”
Besides “Good Cop Bad Cop,” other new tracks for the album are “Only One Me” and “Dominate The Weak.”
