Jada Pinkett Smith Admits to Being a Drug Dealer When She Met Tupac

Jada Pinkett Smith has been very vocal about her displeasure towards her character portrayal in Tupac biopic All Eyez On Me. And on today’s episode (June 19) of Sway in the Morning, the celebrated actress said that she wasn’t the innocent school girl that the film made out to be. In fact, she said that she was a drug dealer when she first met Tupac.

“One of the things that’s very interesting that I’ve never really said before is that when I first met ‘Pac … when we first met, I was a drug dealer,” she admits. “I won’t get into the details of it ’cause I’m going to write a book about it … but just to give you … like that’s how we started,” she continued. “Then as I was coming out … something very bad happened to me … as I was coming out of the life, he was going more into the life.”

When film was first released on June 16, Smith took to social media to reveal her thoughts on the film and set the record straight on some things she felt was portrayed inaccurately. “Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth.”

Jada revealed that her relationship with Tupac was re-imagined in the film, which was “deeply hurtful” to her and Pac’s legacy. Smith shared before going on to assure actors Demetrius Shipp Jr. and Kat Graham — who portray Shakur and Pinkett  — that none of the blame was with them.

“You both did a beautiful job with what you were given. Thank you both.”

Jada has spoken previously about her relationship with Shakur. In 2015 during an interview with shock jock Howard Stern, Pinkett-Smith said that though the connection the pair had was strong, it was never romantic.

“You know, it’s so funny because now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us,” she said. “When you have two young people that have very strong feelings, but there was no physical chemistry between us at all, and it wasn’t even just for me — it was him too.”

Pinket-Smith wasn’t the only artist who had some critical reviews for the film, rapper 50 Cent also spoke out against the film calling it “trash.”

“Man I watched the 2 PAC film, that was some bullshit. Catch that shit on a fire stick trust me. LOL SMH TRASH,” Fifty posted via Instagram. “I just want you to keep me in mind when you watch that shit. Straight out of Compton was good. That was a bad movie man, 2PAC is suppose to be a classic they fucked it up. John Singleton said it was wack, I had to see it for my self. Go check it out you gonna be mad as a mother fucker. I want my money back now!!! Some of yal think I’m hating. SMH nah go see it. When you walk out of ther motherfucker like this you gonna learn to listen to me.”
