Social media is in uproar as it seems like Jay Z may be dropping a new album soon. While the young Gods like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole currently hold court, Swizz Beatz posted a picture of him and Jay Z with the caption, “They don’t even know what’s about to happen 😂😂😂🙏🏽 Album ModeZone⚡️.”
Swizz and Hov have created a few classics in the past like “Jigga My Nigga” and “Money Cash Hoes” so there’s no telling what the two are cooking up but Hova’s got us waiting.
In related news, Jay Z will perform at the Austin City Limits Festival in October and co-headline alongside Gorillaz and Chance The Rapper. He’ll also headline his Made in America Festival along with his protegé J. Cole.
The lineup for the 2017 edition of his annual Budweiser Made in America Festival which will be held from September 2-3 at Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway, will also include such acts as Solange, Migos, 21 Savage, Pusha T, Run the Jewels, DMX, Pusha T and more. The Roc Nation mogul is also tackling race in the Trump era with his new docuseries, “Race With Jay Z.” Partnering with National Geographic, the project, produced by Jay and The Weinstein Company, is said to explore the systematic injustices minorities face in America, such as incarceration and the wealth gap, social media, activism, and family. According to published reports, it will look at how race became “the most pressing issue in the nation” following the election.
The six-part docuseries, hosted by Jay Z, will include documentary, animation, and archival footage. It will also feature diverse voices from immigrants, first-generation Americans and others.
With twins on the way too, it looks like Jigga’s hands are going to remain full.
