Kendall and Kylie Jenner Pull Biggie and 2Pac Shirts From Stores After Criticism from Voletta Wallace and Suge Knight’s Son

Tried it! That’s what Voletta Wallace, Suge Knight’s son, and the rest of social media thought of Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s attempt to sell band tees using the likes of famous artists.

In now pulled items, the reality stars juxtaposed pictures of themselves with that of the Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, and rock bands for their Kendall + Kylie line. Co-opting the images of musicians for $125 and without permission to do so, the Jenners are apologizing for their vintage tee collection.

From selfies with hoop earrings to Instagram bikini shorts, the Jenners fused colorful shots of themselves onto iconic images of Biggie and Pac. On other shirts, just the letters “KK” lay on top of screenprints. The items are a part of the Jenners’ ‘Rock vs. Rap” collection, which is comprised of “repurposed” band merchandise, according to the CR Fashion Book. Outside of rap, others targeted by their designs include: Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath—causing its singer Ozzy Osbourne’s family, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, to call Kendall + Kylie out.

Also responding, Biggie’s mother, Wallace, spoke for his whole estate in saying they had no part in creating the collection of shirts. She also received no inquiries from the Jenners pre-hand for permission to use the late rapper’s image. “The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me,” she said. “I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is disrespectful, disgusting and exploitation at its worst!!!” Suge Knight’s son, Suge Jacob Knight, added his two sense.”These are the same people who wear braids and call it a new style but then call a black girl with the same style ratchet,” he said. “Who also needs to be checked is Tyga for stealing the Death Row logo and putting it on his last kings clothing line.”

The Jenners have erased traces of their shirts on the Kendall + Kylie website and issued a statement, which appears on both of their Twitters. “These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone who has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists,” the statement read.
