Kendrick Lamar Fires Shots at Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s New Single

Compton native rapper Kendrick Lamar completely blacks out on a surprise feature on Future and J. Cole’s new song “Like That” from the duo’s new album We Don’t Trust You.

Emptying a full clip at Drizzy and J. Cole over a riveting reworking of Rodney O and Joe Cooley’s 1988 classic “Everlasting Bass,” K. Dot opens the second verse blasting, “These niggas talkin’ out of they necks/ Don’t pull no coffin out of your mouth, I’m way too paranoid for a threat.”

Spitting fire, K Dot continues, “Niggas clickin’ up, but cannot be legit, no 40 Water…/ Fuck sneak dissin’, first person shooter, I hope they came with three switches/ I crash out, like, “Fuck rap,” diss Melle Mel if I had to/ Got 2TEEZ with me, I’m snatchin’ chains and burnin’ tattoos.”

Later in the verse, he further spits vemon, “Motherfuck the big three/ Nigga, it’s just big me/ Nigga, bum, what? I’m really like that/ And your best work is a light pack.”

Kendrick’s latest diss is just the newest installment of the beef that he and Drake have had for years. But as of late, it seemed that the fued began to cool down. But Kendrick obviously felt as if he had been sneak dissed on Drake and Cole’s “First Person Shooter” song that launched their joint tour, where Drake rapped, “Hate how the game got away from the bars, man, this shit like a prison escape/ Everybody steppers? Well, fuck it, then everybody breakfast and I’m ’bout to clear up my plate.”

To some, the line was a reference to Kendrick Lamar’s 2022 album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

Cole just may have been caught in the crossfire. Just recently, he and Kendrick were in plans of doing a joint album together. Added to that, Cole and Metro Boomin were recently in the studio together.
