Seven Grammy Awards and more than 25 million record sales later, multi-platinum producer/ rapper/ music mogul Dr. Dre was immortalized with the 2,775th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday.
The event was star packed with artists such as Xzibit, 50 Cent, Eminem and Snoop Dogg in attendance, as well as music impresario Jimmy Iovine, with whom Dre founded the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy at USC. Both organizations focus on entrepreneurship.
The Compton native, whose real name is Andre Young, received the star in the recording category.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living doing exactly what I love to do,” he said in his speech. “How about that. Isn’t that the dream?”
