There are still no signs of Tha Carter V, but we do have new music from Lil Wayne. DJ Stevie J recently released the ninth installment of his The Appreciation mixtape series and it turns out that he tapped Lil Wayne for a feature. The collaboration comes as a surprise for many. The new record from Wayne is titled “YFS” and stands for “young, fresh and shameless.”
In “YFS” Lil Wayne raps,
“Young, fresh and shameless, young, fresh and shameless/About to buy the centerpiece, Love Wrestlemania/Love miscellaneous, fuck instantaneous/I’m busting nuts in her mouth, young macadamia/Young, rich and famous, young rich and famous/Young Money but the money so fuckin’ ancient/Buy wine, drink it, by God, Amen/Can’t forget to thank him, young, fresh and shameless,” he raps.
There is still no release date for Tha Carter V, as Lil Wayne and Birdman are still not seeing eye to eye. Recently at a show in Las Vegas, Wayne told Baby to “suck my d***.”
This weekend, Lil Wayne is set to hit the stage at the 2017 BET Awards, joining a veteran line-up of performers that also includes Chris Brown, Big Sean, Post Malone, and New Edition. The show will air live on on Sunday, June 25th at 8pm ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The 2017 BET Awards will be hosted by stand-up comedian Leslie Jones.
