Listen to Kodak Black’s New Song “My Cousin”

Sometimes, we all need that time to sit back and reflect on the ups and downs in life. Unfortunately for many of us, that time comes when we lose loved ones that we will never see again. Kodak Black is now going though that reflection time.

On yesterday (June 28), the Pompano Beach, Fla. native released a new track called “My Cousin” on his official YouTube page, where the 20-year-old rapper muses over his past pains and the recent shooting of his cousin. On the song, he raps:

“My cousin just got hit up, damn I wanna slide though/Even though I’m on house arrest, I wanna ride though/But if I go to prison, I know my momma gonna cry though/ He told me ‘I’m just telling you I love you before I die, though.”

Throughout the song, he battles with a decision between riding on the fools who shot his cousin or keeping his nose clean and focusing on his music career. Listen above.

In other Kodak news previously reported, the “Tunnel Vision” rapper took to Instagram live where he seemed to set out to offend as many female fans as possible. During the impromptu Q&A session, a user asked Kodak how he felt about Keke Palmer, to which he said: “Keke Palmer, she straight. I’d bag her, but I don’t really like black girls like that, sorta kinda.”

Kodak then goes on to call Nicki Minaj, “Ran through,” while praising more fair artists like Jennifer Lopez and white artists like Taylor Swift.

“I like girls like J. Lo, Taylor Swift, they look good to me. Miley [Cyrus] she cute, she cute.”

Kodak didn’t stiff-arm all black women, he stated that despite initially not “liking” Cardi B, after listening to her latest hit “Bodak Yellow,” he had a change of heart.

“At first, I ain’t really like Cardi B,” Kodak added. “But then I heard that “Bodak Yellow,” and I was like, ‘What, she want me or something?’ I heard how she came with my little flow.”
