‘Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Recap #RealityCheck [Watch]

Hey reality checkers it’s ya girl R-Jay here with the reali-tea and it’s piping hot.

Last night was the debut episode for season 6 of Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta and it did not disappoint. Let’s get started, contrary to reports, many of the cast from previous seasons remained (Karlie Redd, Joseline Hernandez, Stevie J, Young Joc, Tommie, Kirk and Rasheeda), so the reports over the summer that everyone had been fired and replaced proved to be alternative facts but we are glad because we are getting a lot of questions answered this season.

To kick things off, you know the “Puerto Rican princess” was front and center with her bun still in the oven. Joseline kicked off her segment dispelling rumors that Stevie was not the father of her child and shot down rumors that she was involved with Young Dro-despite him being front and center at the maternity shoot. Of course never being one too far from drama, Joseline made sure she kept the streets talking by serving Stevie with paternity papers and keeping true to her word and pressing charges against Tommie to put her behind bars.

As if this first three-minutes weren’t jaw dropping enough, Karlie Redd and Young Joc announce that they are once again an item in the most random of places (who knew Young Joc had a llama farm?!). Sporting a cut out patchwork bodycon dress and Yeezy clear boots, Karlie steps on to the farm demanding that Young Joc give her an apology for his remark regarding her sexual escapades and hinting to the fact she may or may not see pimento cheese when she pees. Young Joc of course declines and the two of them stand fast to their guns making a bet on who would apologize first, which led to the beans being spilled about Ms. Redd’s upcoming tell all sex book.

“I am coming out with a new illicit book that will talk about everyone I have been with and it will name names,” Karlie said.

But the revelations didn’t stop there, Mimi revealed her new boo Melissa who’s a bar owner and a DJ in Atlanta, who’s subsequently been hired to spin at Joseline’s masquerade party. Although many of the women did not attend, Karlie appeared obviously conspicuous from behind a curtain, when she spotted Joc sitting with a young woman who turned out to be Jasmine. After asking 21 questions, Karlie realized that Jasmine was a friend of Joc’s dating Mimi’s ex Rod; but what Karlie also received was the tea with lemon that Jasmine recently had a baby with none of other than Kirk Frost.

I know! We were shocked too, but Karlie held Rasheeda down by asking all of the right questions and when Kirk appeared on the scene, she continued to let the questions fly regarding the legitimacy of the baby’s paternity. Of course, Kirk denied even knowing who Jasmine was before realizing that Karlie had since left the party and he needed to reach Rasheeda to let her know the truth.

Lies aside many are wondering if Rasheeda and Kirk’s relationship will survive the confirmation that he has fathered a child outside of their relationship. But Rasheeda and Kirk aren’t the only ones in the hot seat over a new baby, after months of hurling insults online and court papers, Stevie J and Joseline sit down face to face to discuss the future of the baby and their relationship.

This season looks like it is going to be the most explosive one yet, to check out this first full episode click here. To see what’s in store for the season, check out the trailer below.
