Mary J. Blige will be releasing her new album The Strength of a Woman on April 28 and just announced that her new project will be accompanied with a documentary that shows the making of the LP.
Never one to hide her pain in her music, the R&B diva will also discuss her pending divorce from her estranged husband Kendu Isaacs and how writing and working on the project helped heal some of the pain.
Giving fans a sneak peek with the trailer, Mary J. Blige states,
“[Divorce] is not something I wanted to do, but I had no choice,” said Mary in a trailer for the doc. “I’m not writing an album preaching to anyone about what they should do. I’m literally trying to heal myself through writing, singing, through some kind of way. Getting it out of my system.”
The trailer also features appearnces from some of the people who went in the lab with Mary to work on the album including DJ Khaled, Jazmine Sullivan, Hit-Boy and Neo while her brother Diddy narrates her journey.
