Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger Shopping Drama Series Based on Tha Dogg Pound

With the recent successes of Straight Outta Compton, Netflix’s The Get Down and Tupac’s upcoming biopic All Eyez On Me, Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger are shopping their own drama series to some national television networks, reports Deadline.

According to the news site, the series is said to be based on their experiences with Tha Dogg Pound, the gangsta rap duo featuring Dillinger and Kurupt. The as-yet-untitled series is executive produced by Kenya Ware and Damien Zellous, who produced Tha Dogg Pound documentary DPG Eulogy.

“Snoop and I are always being asked to assist others with their Death Row projects because we were there from the beginning, until the demise,” Dillinger said. “We saw Dre leave, Pac murdered, and we were forced to run the company when Suge Knight went back to prison. Our perspective is honest and unique. There are countless stories that the world has never heard about those early days.”

Formed in 1992, Tha Dogg Pound was signed to Death Row Records in their early careers and made their first appearance on Dr. Dre’s highly acclaimed debut album The Chronic in 1992. They also appeared on Snoop Dogg’s debut album Doggystyle in 1993 and the Death Row soundtracks Murder Was the Case and Above the Rim. Their debut album Dogg Food was released in 1995.
