Minister Louis Farrakhan recently sat down for an interview and praised Jay-Z’s new album 4:44 and Ice Cube starting The Big 3 basketball league.

Minister Farrakhan applauded Jay-Z’s lyrical stance on Black economic empowerment and even defended Hov’s lyrics on “The Story of O.J.” where he raps:

“You wanna know what’s more important than throwing’ away money at a strip club? Credit/ You ever wonder why Jewish people own all the property in America? This how they did it… /Financial freedom my only hope/ Fuck living’ rich and dying’ broke.”

In the clip, The Minister stated, “[Jay-Z] talked about the Jewish ownership of property. I do not know how that is anti-Semitic. The  Honorable Elijah Muhammad told us: ‘Study the white man. He is successful.’”

Minister Farrakhan also revealed that he never spoke to Brother Jay-Z until after his grand kids played him the album, adding,

“In order to do great things, we’ve got to learn the value of pooling our intelligence, our knowledge, our money, to do the thing that will cause us to be honored and respected by civilized people all over the world. So I saw Jay-Z’s album as a new beginning for him, and possibly a new beginning for us…”

In their conversation, The Minister also compared Hov to Joseph Kennedy. Kennedy sold alcohol when it was illegal and eventually was allowed to clean his money up and have his family become esteemed in American culture and politics as he offsprings went on to become senators and politicians and his son John even becoming President.

The Minister also compared the activities of Big Meech and Frank Lucas who were imprisoned for their crimes sponsored by America to white men who were allowed to clean their money and become legitimate businessmen and saluted Jigga for being able to jump that mountain.

Minister Farrakhan has been a supporter of the Hip-Hop community for years and also had praises for Ice Cube who he has mentored throughout the years. The Nation of Islam leader added,

“Wow, if tomorrow this gets bigger and bigger, white people that own the stadiums may say, ‘I’m sorry we’re not renting to you.’ Then, we’ll pool our money and buy a stadium and buy places for our artists to perform. Look, it’s our day now. We can’t sit around and act mad if the white man don’t want us in his place. Set the thing up for yourself. The time is now.”
