R&B supergroup New Edition will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 “BET Awards” which will air live on Sunday, June 25 at 8 pm ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA on BET. The New Edition Story, which told the rise of the iconic R&B group, aired on BET in February as a 3-part mini-series and was watched by over 29 million viewers.

Also being honored that night will be Chicago’s Chance The Rapper who will receive the evening’s Humanitarian Award presented by Walmart.

Comedian and actress Leslie Jones will host this year’s awards. Speaking of her hosting gig, Jones said, “I am so excited to be hosting The BET Awards this year. BET was the first network and place where I was on TV. I am looking to turn this whole experience into a joyful homecoming.”

Beyoncé dominates this year’s nominations with a total of seven including ‘Best Female R&B/Pop Artist,’ ‘Best Collaboration’ with Kendrick Lamar for “Freedom,” ‘Video of the Year,’ and ‘Album of the Year’ for Lemonade.
