The Official Trailer for Season 2 of Issa Rae’s “Insecure” is Finally Here [Watch]

Next month the highly anticipated season 2 of Issa Rae‘s Insecure returns to HBO and the official trailer has just been released.

In the 2-minute trailer, we see Issa plotting to get back with her ex-Lawrence, hitting the dating scene to have an attempt at a “hoe phase”, and her sisterhood with her friends. Featured in the trailer is music from Anderson .Paak (the song “Come Down” from his project Malibu) and Frank Ocean (with the single “Slide” featuring Calvin Harris and Migos).

The first season of Insecure was a smash hit, earning Issa Rae, the series creator, notoriety that led to a Golden Globe nomination. The show also stars Jay Ellis, Amanda Seales, and Yvonne Orji.

On the red carpet at the BET Awards, Rae told Entertainment Tonight that next season will pick up where last season left off.

“We’re leaving no stone unturned,” said Rae. “If you have questions, they are gonna be answered [in the] first episode…. I think there are things that haven’t been explored that will be explored in season two. The truth will be revealed.”

Insecure premieres on HBO on July 23 and in the words of Issa, this season is going to be “hella” lit!
