Shannon Sharpe Banked Bigger Bucks from Katt Williams Interview Than Any Season in NFL

Talk is still lingering around Shannon Sharpe’s explosive interview with comedian Katt Williams for Club Shay Shay back in January, and the football Hall of Famer continues to cash big checks from the controversial dialogue.

In a new episode of Nightcap, Sharpe alluded to his co-host Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson just how big of a payday he got from the infamous interview.

“Everybody was talking about how much money I made doing the Katt Williams interview,” Sharpe says in the clip below. “I just got the check. So whatever you think I made, 3x it. So if you think I made $500,000, 3x it. If you think I made a million, 3x it. If you think I made $2 million, 3x it.”

He added, “I made more money on Katt Williams alone than I made in any year that I played the NFL.”

Regarded as one of the greatest tight ends in the history of the NFL, Sharpe ranks third in tight end receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011, he was also the first NFL tight end to have more than 10,000 receiving yards. His resume also includes three Super Bowl titles, four First-Team All-Pro selections and eight Pro Bowl appearances.

In 2000, Sharpe raked in $5 million after signing with the Baltimore Ravens, with $4.5 million of that being a signing bonus. Other years, earned from $110,000 to $3 million.

But all of that pales in comparison to the checks he’s seen from the more than 61 million views from the infamous interview with Williams.
